Who are the Lions?
As part of their mission to help others, Lions take on roles as organizers, advocates, fundraisers, and hands-on volunteers. Lions are:
- nearly 1.35 million men and women volunteers who strive to make a difference in their local communities, as well as worldwide.
- from every part of the world, from small towns to big cities.
- united in helping others, serving more effectively as a group than alone.
How often do the Lions Clubs get together?
While most Lions meet with their clubs one or two time each month to plan projects and conduct club business, their time commitment depends mainly on the community service activities they undertake. Being a Lion is a great opportunity to get to know and develop personal and professional relationships with people in your community.
How else do Lions make a difference?
Lions support the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), whose chief mission is to allocate funds and resources to solve major humanitarian challenges worldwide. Together, Lions and LCIF actively work to conquer blindness, provide youth with opportunities, respond to disasters and so much more.
